Hey, The scoop is that I'm getting my FIRST (Yes, first) aftermarket barrel. Yay.... Anywho, if any of you pro's out there could give me a hand, i wouldn't be so confused . Ah hem, these are the three I've sumed it down to. If there is a kick ass barrel in the same price range, feel free to post it. ~Smart Parts Progressive 12', ~Custom Products 1 piece 12., ~J&J Ceramic 12', Thanks for any support and opinions. dictator-anti

You might get yourself the most expensive barrel out there; if it's too big for the paint you shoot, you'll get no accuracy. First look at what paint you use: - do you always use the same brand or do you use more than one brand? - what is the average size of the brand(s) you use? - how is the paint stored where you play?
If you play with with only one brand and the paint you get is always fresh and stored properly beforehand, buy a single barrel of the bore that matches your paint.
If you play with a lot of different brands or with poor storing conditions (which might cause the balls to swell or shrink), go with a barrel system (freak, edge, pipe, etc).
The best barrel is the cheapest you can buy which has proper paint to barrel match. After that you can look at porting (which decrease effective length of the barrel but also quiets the gas expansion). And of course looks :-)

BobEX, Thanks for all the insight. The paint I usauly use are PMI Big Ball or PMI Premium. I'm not so sure about how the arena's I go to, store paintballs. But when they fill your hopper they take them right from the case. I don't know how old the case though . I'm going this weekend and I'll try to find out. What are the bore sizes for Big Ball? And, can you choose bore sizes for the J&J Ceramic or SP Progressive? I know that the Custom Part's barrel you can pick the bore.

Hey, it's Anti here. Kinda' forgot my password, so this is a new account (and yes I know that there is a "forgot your password" function, I guess I feel like a change ). The marker is a Tippmann 98 Custom, but I've already decided to purchase the J&J Ceramic. Just another of my many, many questions to add on here: How do you get a custom avitar, I can't seem to get mine to work! Thanks -(hri$

You need to either make or find a suitable graphic of the correct size (80x80 pixels max). Then you need to have some place on the web where you can host it; pretty much anything but Tripod or Geocities (they don't allow external linking to images). Then after you've got it hosted, all you need to do is use the custom avatar bar in your profile and link to the exact address at which it's hosted. That's it.
PS. If you're trying to use one that's on your hard drive, it won't work because your hard drive isn't an online file server.
